Who is eligible for Named User Licenses?

According to the licensing terms of LSU A&M's ETLA, the following categories of employees are eligible for Named User Licenses:

1. All employees identified as an active Faculty employee (Full-time or Part-time)
2. All employees identified as an active Academic employee (Full-time or Part-time)
3. All employees identified as an active Staff employee (Full-time or Part-time). This includes Professional/Unclassified and Classified staff members. There are certain staff members that may not be licensed in specific departments, and we will be reaching out to those departments regarding impacted staff prior to Staff licensing.

Similarly, the following users are not eligible for Named User Licenses:

1. Any employee identified as Transient, Wages as Earned and Gratis.
2. Any students and student employees (including Graduate student employees).
3. Any guest or affiliate user, e.g, Sponsored Guests.

These files are to be installed on LSU owned multi-user machines, e.g., Computer Labs, Departmental shared workstations for student workers, etc.

These are not for use on personal machines.

Airtable is an integrated relational database spreadsheet solution for databases, marketing, and real-time data use cases.

LSU Faculty and Staff can request access to Airtable for users within LSU either as an Editor or Viewer. Editors come at cost, however a Viewer role is free.

Alertus Desktop Notification is an enterprise software solution for overriding computer displays across your network with critical alert messages.

PLEASE NOTE: ArcGIS Desktop is being retired in 2025, and the main client will transition to ArcGIS Pro. Pro will include the functionality of Desktop along with additional up-to-date features. We would recommend utilizing Pro and transitioning in 2024 for the best experience. 

Further licenses will not be generally available for ArcGIS Desktop in 2025; please reach out to software@lsu.edu if there are any issues with the transition.

ArcGIS Pro is the latest professional desktop GIS from Esri. With ArcGIS Pro, you can view, explore, analyze, edit, and share your maps and data. An ArcGIS Pro project can contain many maps and layouts as well as tables, charts, and other items.

ArcGIS Pro is available offline via this offering, however it is also available through online apps within the browser at https://lsu-its.maps.arcgis.com.
